NFC Passport Reading
Cryptographically verified identity data, straight from the chip.
Key features
- ICAO 9303 compliant chip reading
- Active and passive authentication
- Cryptographic verification of country signing certificates
- Mobile SDK for iOS and Android
- Biometric photo extraction for face match
Every modern e-passport contains an NFC chip with cryptographically signed identity data. Reading that chip is the gold standard for identity verification because the data cannot be forged without breaking the issuing country's signing key.
Why NFC beats OCR
OCR-based document verification reads what is printed on the page, which can be reprinted on a forged template. NFC reads the chip data and validates the country signature against the ICAO public-key infrastructure. If the signature checks out, the data is genuine.
Where this is used
High-value account opening, gambling licenses, premium crypto exchanges, real-estate transactions, immigration workflows, and any case where a forged passport would be catastrophic.
